The goals lines
An over/under bet is on the total goals in a match, regardless of who scores them. Lines ending in .25 or .75 can settle as a half win or half loss; whole-number lines can void. The table below assumes a match finishing with 2 goals.

Three worked examples
1. Line of 2.5, match finishes 2-1 (3 goals)
Over: 3 − 2.5 = +0.5, a full win. Under: 2.5 − 3 = −0.5, a full loss. A half-goal line like 2.5 never voids and never settles at half.
2. Line of 2/2.5, match finishes 1-1 (2 goals)
Over: 2 − 2.25 = −0.25, a half loss. Under: 2.25 − 2 = +0.25, a half win. That is what the 2/2.5 line does: on exactly 2 goals the two sides split it.
3. Line of 2, match finishes 1-1 (2 goals)
Both over and under come to 0, so the stake is returned and nothing is won or lost. A whole-number line always refunds when the total lands exactly on it.

How do over/under bets settle?
Subtract the line from the total goals for an over bet, or the total from the line for an under bet. A result of 0.5 or more is a full win, between 0 and 0.5 is a half win, exactly 0 returns the stake, between −0.5 and 0 is a half loss, and −0.5 or below is a full loss.
What does a 2/2.5 line mean?
It is 2.25: half the stake sits on the 2 line and half on the 2.5 line. If the match finishes with exactly 2 goals, over loses half and under wins half. Three or more and over wins in full.
When is the stake returned?
Only on whole-number lines. A line of 2 with a match finishing on 2 goals refunds both sides. Lines ending in .25, .5 or .75 never land exactly on zero.
Does extra time count?
Normally settlement is on the 90 minutes plus stoppage time, with extra time and penalty shoot-outs excluded. Check the Hong Kong Jockey Club's published rules before betting.
