Editorial Standards and Data Notes
This page sets out where our numbers come from, how they are calculated, and which parts are not written by a person. We would rather state the limits plainly than have a reader mistake a reference figure for a research finding.
Where the data comes from
Fixtures, live scores, lineups, team and league data come from the TheSports data feed. Hong Kong Jockey Club football odds, racecards and results come from the Club's published data. Other bookmakers' odds are collected from their public prices. Everything updates at the frequency the supplier provides; none of it is instantaneous.
How tipster records are calculated
A tipster's win rate, return and streak count settled tips only. Tips on fixtures that have not kicked off, or that have no result yet, are excluded. Settlement follows the official result of the fixture concerned. Leaderboards are calculated separately over different windows, the last 10 tips, the last month and all time, so the same tipster shows different figures on different boards.
What is machine-generated
AI match analysis, AI racing analysis and the big-data selections are produced automatically from fixture data. They are not written commentary. The opening summaries on the schedule, league, jockey and trainer pages are likewise assembled from that day's data. The news lists are aggregated links to third-party sources, and copyright in those articles rests with the original publisher.
The figures in the calculator guides
The worked examples on the handicap, parlay, over/under and odds-analysis pages are generated by the same functions the calculators run, not written separately. The explanation and the tool therefore cannot disagree. The tools demonstrate settlement rules; actual payouts are those published by the Hong Kong Jockey Club.
Reference figures versus measured data
Some pages show percentages that are general reference levels, such as the line tendencies in the handicap analysis. These are broad industry figures rather than statistics Tipsme has measured from its own fixture data, and the pages say so where they appear. Where a figure is measured, we state how it is calculated and what it covers.
Telling us about an error
If you find a result, price, record or any other figure that looks wrong, email support@data-mount.com with a link to the page and what you believe the correct value to be. We will check it and correct it; where the problem lies with a data supplier, we will raise it with them.
